Access Files on another Homegroup Computer in Windows 7

So you have two or more computers that have been successfully added to a Homegroup and now you want to browse from one computer to another. It’s easier than you think.

  1. Click the Start orb and then select your user name at the top right of the Start Menu.
  2. Select the User Name in the left column of the Explorer window under Homegroup to access those files.

  3. Browse the files as if they were on your computer.

Note: If the computer you are trying to access the files on is turned off, hibernating, or asleep, the files won’t show up under Homegroup in the left pane.
