Learn how to prioritize services over programs in Windows 7.
If you’re using Windows 7 as a server (web, ftp, print, so on…) and you’re having performance issues, try setting Windows 7 to allocate more processor resources to background services (like IIS) instead of programs.
- Type adjust perf in the Start Menu’s search box and then press Enter on your keyboard.
- Select the Advanced tab in the Performance Options window.
- Select Background services under Processor Scheduling and then click OK.
- Restart your computer
