Change a File’s Extension

  1. First, you need to enable the show file extension [1] option.
  2. Next, click on the file you want to change the file extension one time, pause for a second, and click it again.

  3. The file’s name will become highlighted. Erase the file’s extension and replace it with the new one, and then press Enter on your keyboard.
  4. Click Yes when asked if you’re sure you want to change the file’s extension.
