Learn how to deny read and write access to all removable storage devices in Windows 7.
Configure access to all removable storage classes.
This policy setting takes precedence over any individual removable storage policy settings. To manage individual classes, use the policy settings available for each class.
If you enable this policy setting, no access is allowed to any removable storage class.
If you disable or do not configure this policy setting, write and read accesses are allowed to all removable storage classes.

For those who have had this issue, when you disable removable storage using the above method drives will not work when you re-enable them via the group policy editor.
You must go into the device manager and uninstall the device, unplug it, and plug it back in, before you can access it. Otherwise the device will remain disabled even though you have permitted removable storage access.
