Disable Context Menus and Dragging and Dropping in the Start Menu

Learn how to disable context menus (right-click menus) and dragging and dropping in Windows 7’s Start Menu.

Disable Context Menus and Dragging and Dropping in the Start Menu

  1. Right-click an empty spot on the taskbar (the bar with the Start Orb and clock) and then choose Properties.
  2. Click the Start Menu tab in the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window.

  3. Click the Customize button in the Start Menu tab of the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window.

  4. Uncheck Enable context menus and dragging and dropping and then click OK.

  5. Click OK in the Taskbar and Start Menu window to save the changes.
