Disable Network Discovery

Learn how to turn Network Discovery off in Windows 7.

How do I disable Network Discovery?

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start Menu.
  2. Open the Network and Sharing Center in the Control Panel.

    Note: If the Network and Sharing Center is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Select Change advanced sharing settings in the left column of the Network and Sharing Center window.

  4. Select Turn off network discovery and then click Save changes.
