Learn how to set Windows 7 to show icons instead of thumbnails.

Don’t Show Thumbnails

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Open Folder Options from the Control Panel.


    Note: If Folder Options is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Select the View tab in the Folder Options window.


  4. Check off Always show icons, never thumbnails in the Advanced settings section of the View tab.


  5. Click OK to save the changes.

    I followed the instructions to show PDF’s as thumbnails, but it didn’t work. Do you have any other suggestions? (I’m using Windows 7 Home Premium with SP1. Thanks.
