Learn how to control what games can be played based on rating, content, or title using Parental Control Game Ratings in Windows 7.
Enable Parental Control Game Ratings
- Open the Control Panel in the Start Menu.
- Open Parental Controls in the Control Panel.
Note: If Parental Controls is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.
- Select the user account you want to limit with Parental Control Game Ratings.
- Select Games.
- Select Yes under Can User play games.
- To block or allow games by rating and content types click Set game ratings.
- You should select Block games with no rating to make sure no games slip through the cracks.
- Select the highest allowed rating for all games.
- You can also allow or block games based on their content by scrolling down a little further and checking off unacceptable content.
- Click OK to save the settings.
- You can always allow or block any game by selecting Block or Allow specific games. This setting is not required.
- Choose which games can be played based on the User Rating Settings, or choose to always allow, or always block.
- Click OK to save the settings.
