Enable Parental Control Game Ratings

Learn how to control what games can be played based on rating, content, or title using Parental Control Game Ratings in Windows 7.

Open the Control Panel in the Start Menu.
Open Parental Controls in the Control Panel.

Note: If Parental Controls is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.
Select the user account you want to limit with Parental Control Game Ratings.
Select Games.
Select Yes under Can User play games.
To block or allow games by rating and content types click Set game ratings.
You should select Block games with no rating to make sure no games slip through the cracks.
Select the highest allowed rating for all games.
You can also allow or block games based on their content by scrolling down a little further and checking off unacceptable content.
Click OK to save the settings.
You can always allow or block any game by selecting Block or Allow specific games. This setting is not required.
Choose which games can be played based on the User Rating Settings, or choose to always allow, or always block.
Click OK to save the settings.
