Enable the Windows 7 Firewall

Enable Windows 7’s Firewall

  1. Open Control Panel in the Start menu.
  2. Open Windows Firewall in the Control Panel.

    Note: If Windows Firewall is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Select Turn Windows Firewall on or off.

  4. Select Turn on Windows Firewall under Home and or Public network(s) and then click OK.

    Note: A private or work network is the network setup at your house or work. A public network is the network setup at a coffee house or other public place.
