Exclude a Program or Service from DEP Protection in Windows 7

Learn how to stop Data Execution Prevention (DEP) from monitoring a program or service.

  1. Type adjust perf in the Start Menu’s search box and then press Enter on the keyboard.
  2. Select the Data Execution Prevention tab in the Performance Options window.

  3. Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.
  4. Click the Add… button and browse to the executable (.exe) of the program you want exclude from DEP.

  5. Restart the computer.
