Learn how to force package point and print only in Windows 7.
If this setting is enabled, users will only be able to point and print to printers that use package-aware drivers. When using package point and print, client computers will check the driver signature of all drivers that are downloaded from print servers.
Force Package Point and Print Only
- Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.
Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows 7 using Group Policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows 7.
- Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Control Panel, and then select Printers in the left column of the Group Policy editor.
- Double-click Only use Package Point and print in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
- Select Enable and then click OK to save the changes.
