Hide Empty Drives in the Computer Folder

Learn how to make Windows 7 hide empty drives in the Computer folder.

Show Empty Drives

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Open Folder Options in the Control Panel.

    Note: If Folder Options is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Select the View tab in the Folder Options window.

  4. Check off Hide empty drives in the Computer folder.

  5. Click OK to save the changes.

    Despite this option being selected, I still get empty drives shown. Possible problem/solution?

    This happened to me too. I fixed it by Checking the “Don’t show hidden files, folders, or drives” box under the Hidden files and folders section.

    I don’t have a “hide empty drives in my computer” option…

    using vista 32 bit SP2, english
