Who can see libraries and files shared with my HomeGroup?

Only people who are part of the HomeGroup can see libraries and files shared. See my guide on how to Prevent Specific Files or Folders from Being Shared with a HomeGroup [1] to hide specific files from other people on the HomeGroup.

If I join a HomeGroup, will all of the user accounts on my computer also belong to the HomeGroup?

Yes. All accounts except the Guest account will belong to the HomeGroup. Each user account can control which libraries of files are shared.

Which version of Windows and network locations can use homegroup?

HomeGroup is a new feature in Windows 7 and can only be used by all versions of Windows 7. HomeGroup will only work with a network location of Home.

Note: Windows 7 Home Basic can only join a HomeGroup. It can’t create a new HomeGroup.
