Remove the See More Results Link from Start Menu Search Results

Learn how to remove the “See More Results” Link from the Start Menu search results in Windows 7.

If you enable this policy, a “See more results” / “Search Everywhere” link will not be shown when the user performs a search in the start menu search box.

If you disable or do not configure this policy, a “See more results” link will be shown when the user performs a search in the start menu search box. If a 3rd party protocol handler is installed, a “Search Everywhere” link will be shown instead of the “See more results” link.

Remove the “See More Results” Link from the Start Menu Search Results

  1. Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.

    Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows 7 using Group Policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows 7.

  2. Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, and then select Start Menu and Taskbar in the left column of the Group Policy editor.

  3. Double-click Remove See More Results / Search Everywhere link in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
  4. Select Enable and then click OK to save the changes.
