Restore the Windows 7 Firewall Default Settings

Learn how to restore the default settings in the Windows 7 firewall.

Restore Windows 7’s Firewall Default Settings

  1. Open Control Panel in the Start menu.
  2. Open Windows Firewall in the Control Panel.

    Note: If Windows Firewall is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Select Restore defaults.

  4. Click the Restore defaults button.

  5. Click Yes when prompted for confirmation on restore the Windows 7 firewall defaults.
