Learn how to restrict the selection of Windows menus and dialogs language in Windows 7.
This setting restricts users to the specified language by disabling the menus and dialog box controls in the Regional and Language Options Control Panel. If the specified language is not installed on the target computer, the language selection defaults to English.
Restrict the Selection of Windows Menus and Dialogs Language
- Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.
Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows 7 using Group Policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows 7.
- Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Control Panel, and then select Regional and Language Options in the left column of the Group Policy editor.
- Double-click Restrict selection of Windows menus and dialogs language in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
- Select Enable, select the language to restrict users to, and then click OK to save the changes.
