Set Folders to Open In the Same Window

Learn how to make folders open in the same window in Windows 7.

Make Folders Open in the Same Window

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Open Folder Options in the Control Panel.


    Note: If Folder Options is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Select Open each folder in the same window in the Browser folders section of the Folder Options window.


  4. Click OK to save the changes.

    I have been having this problem for a while on Windows 7. I had already done what you just ilistrated and the folders still come up in different windows. I’m not sure what the problem is. If you could help me out i would greatly apreciate it.
