Set Microsoft Security Essentials to Exclude a File or Location

Exclude a File or Folder in MSE

  1. Open Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) by going to Start, All Programs, Microsoft Security Essentials, and then select Microsoft Security Essentials.

  2. Select the Settings tab.
  3. Select Excluded files & locations in the left column of the Settings tab.

  4. Click the Add button.
  5. Select the file or folder and then click OK.

  6. Click Save changes and you’re done!
