Set Microsoft Security Essentials to Exclude a File Type

Exclude a File Type in MSE
- Open Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) by going to Start, All Programs, Microsoft Security Essentials, and then select Microsoft Security Essentials.
[1] - Select the Settings tab.
- Select Excluded file types in the left column of the Settings tab.
[2] - Type *. followed by the file type (*.jpg, *.txt, *.png, so on) and then click the Add button.
[3] - Click Save changes and you’re done!
