Learn how to set whether the Start Menu’s power button will switch users, log off, lock, restart, sleep, or shut down the computer in Windows 7.

Set the Start Menu Power Button Action

  1. Right-click the taskbar (the bar with the start orb and time) and then select Properties.
  2. Select the Start Menu tab in the Taskbar and Start Menu Properties window.

  3. Select the Power button action.

  4. Click OK to save the changes.
