Set When Windows 7 Should Turn Off the Display

Learn how to set when Windows 7 should turn off the display after being inactive.

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Open Power Options in the Control Panel.

    Note: If Power Options is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Select Change plan settings on the power plan you want to edit.

  4. Set the amount of time of inactivity (from Never to 5 hours) next to Turn off the display and then click Save changes.
