Learn how to set Windows 7 to not go to sleep when it’s idle.

Set Windows 7 to Not Sleep when Idle

  1. Open the Control Panel in the Start menu.
  2. Open Power Options in the Control Panel.


    Note: If Power Options is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Click Change plan settings next to the power plan you want to edit.


  4. Change the drop-down menu next to Put the computer to sleep to Never and then click Save changes.

    New versions of Windows seem to complicate settings.
    Not simple settings as old versions.
