Set Windows 7’s Desktop Background to Rotate Pictures

Learn how to turn your desktop background into a slide show of your favorite pictures in Windows 7.

Windows 7’s desktop can show a slide show of your favorite pictures that rotate every few seconds, minutes, hours, or once or twice a day.

Set Up Rotating Backgrounds

  1. Right-click the desktop and choose Personalize.
  2. Click Desktop Background at the bottom of the Personalization window.

  3. Scroll through the list of pictures and check the boxes of all the pictures you want in the slide show that appear at the top left of the pictures when you hover your mouse over them.

Tip: You can use your own pictures instead on the one included with Windows 7 by clicking the Browse button next to Picture location and browse to the location of your pictures. They are usually located in Libraries, Pictures.

  4. Click the Save changes button at the bottom of the Desktop Background window and enjoy the show.
