Set Windows Defender to Use Heuristics when Scanning
Posted By Brent Trahan On February 20, 2009 @ 10:16 am In Guides, Security | No Comments
When Windows Defender scans using heuristics it attempts to detect malicious or unwanted software by looking at items that partially match an existing definition (known malware). This can potentially catch more malware, but it can also cause false positives.
Note: If Windows Defender is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.
