Set Windows Defender’s Default Actions

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Open Windows Defender in the Control Panel.

    Note: If Windows Defender is not available, change View by to Large icons.

  3. Click Tools at the top of the Windows Defender Window.

  4. Click Options in the Settings section of Windows Defender.

  5. Click Default actions.

  6. Set the default actions (recommended action based on definitions, Remove, or Quarantine) for each level of alert and then click Save.
