Show the Translucent Selection Rectangle in Windows 7

Learn how to set Windows 7 to use the translucent rectangle to select multiple objects.

A translucent rectangle is the box that appears when you left-click and drag your mouse creating a rectangle used to select multiple objects.

  1. Type adjust perf in the Start Menu’s search box and then press Enter on your keyboard.
  2. Check Show translucent selection rectangle.
  3. Click OK to save the changes.
