Learn how to specify how many days to keep visited websites in Internet Explorer’s memory in Windows 7.

Specify How Long IE Remembers Visited Websites

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Open Internet Options in the Control Panel.

    Note: If Internet Options is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Click Settings in the Browsing history section of the Internet Properties window.

  4. Set the number of days to keep pages in history in the History section of the Temporary Internet Files and History Settings window.

    Hint: Set Days to keep pages in history to 0 and Internet Explorer will not keep a list of websites you’ve visited.
