Stop Menus from Fading Out after Being Clicked in Windows 7

Learn how to stop menus from fading out after being clicked in Windows 7.

Let’s say you right-clicked the desktop and then selected Refresh. When you select Refresh (an item on a menu) the menu quickly fades away. This guide shows you how to set the menu to just disappear instead of fading away.

  1. Type adjust perf in the Start Menu’s search box and then press Enter on your keyboard.
  2. Uncheck Fade out menus after clicking.
  3. Click OK to save the changes.
