Learn how to troubleshoot the Stop 0xC000021A or STATUS_SYSTEM_PROCESS_TERMINATED Stop Error (BSOD) in Windows 7.
What caused the error?
The Stop 0xC000021A message occurs when Windows 7 switches into kernel mode and a user-mode subsystem (the Windows log on screen) and security can’t be guaranteed because of compromised security. This problem can also be caused when an administrator has modified permissions in such a way that the system account can’t access system files and folders.
How do I fix it?
- If you recently installed software, uninstall it.
- If you recently installed or updated a driver, try rolling the driver back or uninstalling it.
- If you were backing up the computer, or recently backed up the computer using third-party backup tools, contact the software maker about the problem and make sure the backup software is compatible with Windows 7.
