Learn how to disable access to the OEM and Microsoft branding section of the Performance Control Panel in Windows 7.
Removes access to the performance center control panel OEM and Microsoft branding links.
If you enable this setting, the OEM and Microsoft web links within the performance control panel page will not be displayed. The administrative tools will not be affected.
If you disable or do not configure this setting, the performance center control panel OEM and Microsoft branding links will be displayed to the user.
Disable Access to the OEM and Microsoft Branding Section of the Performance Control Panel
- Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.
Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows 7 using Group Policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows 7.
- Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, System, and then select Performance Control Panel in the left column of the Group Policy editor.
- Double-click Turn off access to the OEM and Microsoft branding section in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
- Select Enable and then click OK to save the changes.
