Turn Off Access to the Performance Center Core Section

Learn how to disable the core section of the Performance Center in Windows 7.

Removes access to the performance center control panel page.

If you enable this setting, some settings within the performance control panel page will not be displayed. The administrative tools will not be affected.

If you disable or do not configure this setting, the performance center control panel core section will be displayed to the user.

Disable Access to the Performance Center’s Core Section

  1. Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.

    Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows 7 using Group Policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows 7.

  2. Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, System, and then select Performance Control Panel in the left column of the Group Policy editor.


  3. Double-click Turn off access to the performance center core section in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
  4. Select Enable and then click OK to save the changes.
