Turn Off Help Ratings

Learn how to turn off help ratings in Windows 7.

Specifies whether users can provide ratings for Help content.

If this setting is enabled, this policy setting prevents ratings controls from being added to Help content.

If this setting is disabled or not configured, a rating control will be added to Help topics.

Users can use the control to provide feedback on the quality and usefulness of the Help and Support content.

Turn Off Help Ratings

  1. Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.

    Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows 7 using Group Policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows 7.

  2. Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, System, Internet Communication Management, and then select Internet Communication Settings in the left column of the Group Policy editor.

  3. Double-click Turn off Help Ratings in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
  4. Select Enable and then click OK to save the changes.
