Hello, The explanation above worked for me. Start- Control Panel-Hardware and Sound-Adjust commonly used mobility settings-Integrated wireless devices -Turn Combo card On
THANK YOU! The explanation was very clear and concise AND IT WORKED! I was surprised to find that my “hibernate” button randomly disappeared. i did a google search and luckily I found this when the tutorial on the windows official website left me astray. then, i read about “hybrid sleep” and how it’s set to default and it lead me to this awesome post!
THANKS AGAIN!

I have a problem where the laptop will not recover from sleep at all, won’t turn on or reboot no matter what I try (and I’ve tried almost everything, holding the power button, taking out the battery I haven’t taken out the HD yet though. I’d say it’ll turn out the same as everything else though) only thing that works at the moment is one light on the laptop that looks like a thunder bolt.
It’s a HP G61-409ca series running on windows 7 and a AMD processor.
if anyone could help that would be great. Though I’d say the laptop is junk, It’s a friends not mine.
thanks a lot!
OMG THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH I CAN FINALLY PUT MY COMPUTER IN HIBERNATE AND I CAN GO TO SLEEP (STUPID BUZZY DESKTOP)
Help! I don’t have Allow hybrid sleep under sleep. Don’t have Allow hibernate either. I’m using Windows 7 with an Acer laptop.
Ditto for me with Vista. Once in a while I can keep pounding on various keys and it will awaken. Only sure way I have found is to pull plug and battery, then do cold restart. Most of times when I do that, I get “Windows did not shut down properly” errmsg, and I just select “Start Windows Normally”.
What if my hybrid sleep was already turned off and I still have the problem???
Found mine “off”, turned it “on”. That solved my problem.
My problem was when I hit “sleep” it just shut my system down, and I got the “windows didn’t shut down” right message, so after net jumping for hours and hours, I found your page. SO,Thank you so much for this. You answer was the easiest and the first one that didn’t have my screwing around with my BIOS or some round about answer from Microsoft.
Thanks again.
Glad I could help CronoTime.
Solution did not work. Stayed the same. (HP Envy 14 with Beats audio)
