Learn how to disable a user from creating a system image in Windows 7.
This setting lets you disable the creation of system images.
If this setting is enabled, users cannot create system images.
If this setting is disabled or not configured, users can create system images.
Prevent a User from Creating a System Image
- Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.
Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows 7 using Group Policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows 7.
- Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, Backup, and then select Client in the left column of the Group Policy editor.
- Double-click Turn off the ability to create a system image in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.
- Select Enable and then click OK to save the changes.
