Turn Off Window Animations

Posted By Brent Trahan On June 2, 2009 @ 10:57 pm In Guides, Personalization | No Comments

This policy setting controls the appearance of window animations such as those found when restoring, minimizing, and maximizing windows.

If you enable this setting, window animations will be turned off.

If you disable or do not configure this setting, window animations will be turned on.

Changing this setting will require a logoff for it to be applied.

Do Not Allow Window Animations

  1. Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.

Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows 7 using Group Policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows 7.

  2. Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, and then select Desktop Window Management in the left column of the Group Policy editor.
