Uninstall Windows Gadget Platform

Learn how to uninstall the Windows 7 Gadget Platform.

Warning: This guide shows you how to uninstall the Windows 7 Gadget Platform, not an individual gadget. The Windows Gadget Platform is what all gadgets run on.

Uninstall Windows Gadget Platform

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Open Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

    Note: If the Programs and Features item is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Click Turn Windows features on or off in the left pane of the Programs and Features window.

  4. Uncheck Windows Gadget Platform and then click OK.
