Uninstall Windows Media Center

Learn how to uninstall Windows Media Center in Windows 7.

Uninstall Windows Media Center

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Open Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

    Note: If Programs and Features is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Select Turn Windows features on or off in the left column of the Programs and Features window.

  4. Uncheck Windows Media Center and then click OK.

  5. Click Restart Now to restart the computer.

    this does not uninstall this waste of space program it only turns it off

    AS you obviously don’t know, you cannot remove media center in this manner. It will fail to make any changes every time. All you can do is stop the Windows Media Center services from running and deny access via regedit.

    Hi guys when I did this it opens up in windows media player, I do not know how to resolve this matter.

    yeah…this process won’t do because when you try to open the “turn windows features on or off”, what will open is still the media center..

    This does’nt remove it at all….It just hides it…

I’m trying really hard to uninstall this windows media center, I’ve follow the instructions very well, but every time I select the ” Turn Windows On or Off” as prescribe in step 3, the window of Windows Media Center automatically opens. I cannot access to step 4. Please help me, I really need an immediate response to this matter.

    I have a problem windows media center wants to open all .exe. files on my computer and when i wants to disable it, it opnes. What can i do???
