Uninstall Windows Media Player

Uninstall Windows Media Player

  1. Open the Control Panel from the Start menu.
  2. Open Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

    Note: If Programs and Features is not available, change View by to Large icons at the top right of the Control Panel.

  3. Select Turn Windows features on or off in the left column of the Programs and Features window.

  4. Uncheck Windows Media Player.

  5. A warning will pop-up that informs you that Windows Media Center will also be uninstalled because it uses Windows Media Player components to function. Click OK.

  6. Click OK in the Windows Features window.
  7. Click Restart Now to restart the computer.
