Zip a File or Folder

Learn how to compress a file or folder in Windows 7 without using any third party software.

Zip a File or Folder

  1. Right-click the file or folder.
  2. Point at Send To.
  3. Select Compressed (Zipped) Folder.

A zipped file will be created in the same location with the same name as the original file or folder.

    I downloaded music file (zip file) and it downloads no problem but I no longer have ‘unzip’ file when I right click it. I used this method to download all my music (legal). I don’t remember what and how I changed it but once download is done the logo (automatic downloaded program) has changed. awwww. help. I don’t even know how to explain…
