Adjust Your Processor’s Maximum Performance State
Posted By Brent Trahan On July 19, 2007 @ 1:19 pm In All, Customization, Vista, Windows | No Comments
If you’re using a laptop and you don’t mind using a little more of your battery to speed up your laptop this guide shows you how to increase the processor’s maximum performance state in Windows Vista.
Many laptops maximum performance state is throttled back at 50% to enable longer battery usage. This only lets the processor use half of its total computing power at most. If you’re willing to shorten the amount of time your battery will last you can turn the throttle off and let the processor do its thing full blast.
