i tried to backup using the .reg file i exported earlier but it says that ‘some keys are open by the registry or other processes’ but i have nothing on except mozilla and regedit and i have restarted my laptop several times.

is there another way to return to default registry settings?

please help!!

System restore will not work if there is a bad link (ie. you deleted software manually or moved important files). The export function creates a .reg file which will always work, can be edited, and can be saved on a thumb drive or other backup media.
