Disable Recent Items in Windows Vista’s Start Menu

Stop Recent Items from showing recently opened files in Windows Vista’s start menu.

Introduction

This guide shows you how to turn off Recent Items in Windows Vista’s start menu.

Turn Recent Items Off

  1. Right-click the Start button and then select Properties.
  2. Uncheck Store and display a list of recently opened files under Privacy.

    For Winos7 & Vista it is very easy to Disable or Enable Recent Documents History . But when it comes to XP it is lot more complicated for basic user..
