Disable the Windows Vista Sidebar

Introduction

If you don’t want the gadgets and sidebar to show up when Windows Vista boots up this guide will show you how to disable the Windows Vista Sidebar and Gadgets.

Disable the Sidebar

  1. Right-click in an empty space of the sidebar.
  2. Select Properties.
  3. Uncheck Start Sidebar when Windows starts.

The next time your computer boots up the sidebar will not start.
