How-to Remove or Restore Items Quarantined by Windows Defender

Posted By Brent Trahan On March 4, 2008 @ 10:05 am In All, Vista, Windows, Windows Defender | No Comments

Quarantined items are saved and locked down in a place where they can’t do any harm to your computer so that they can be analyzed by Windows Defender. This guide shows you how to delete quarantined items for good or restore them if they are found to be safe.

Remove or Restore Quarantined Items

  1. Click History at the top of the Windows Defender window.
  2. Click Quarantined items.
  3. Check off the items you want to remove or restore and then click the Remove or Restore button. If you want to remove them all, simply click the Remove All button.
