Posted By Brent Trahan On August 26, 2008 @ 6:56 pm In All, Vista, Windows, Windows Media Center | No Comments

This guide is meant to take the headache out of loading Windows Media Center when Windows Vista boots up.

Auto Start Windows Media Center

  1. Go to Tasks in Windows Media Center, and select settings with your Windows Media Center Remote Control [1], keyboard (space bar), or mouse.

    [2]

  2. Select General.
  3. Select Startup and Window Behavior.
  4. Check off Start Windows Media Center when Windows starts.

    [3]

  5. Select Save.

Now, when your computer starts up Windows Media Center will automatically load.

Set Your Computer to Automatically Log On

If you’re using Windows Media Center as an exclusive way of watching TV you can set Windows Vista to automatically log on when it boots up [4].

Advanced Users: If you really can’t afford to miss a show make sure you set the computer to power back on automatically after a power outage in the BIOS.
