&lt;li&gt;Make sure you wireless card in your laptop is turned on and enabled.  Some laptops have a switch or button to turn the wireless on or off.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;li&gt;If you&#039;re using WEP or any other wireless encryption, make sure the key has been properly added on your laptop&#039;s wireless connection.&lt;/li&gt;
&lt;/ul&gt;
