Show File Extensions

Introduction
This guide shows you how to set Windows Vista to show it’s file’s extensions after their names.
For example: A jpeg photo named Brent will show up as Brent.jpg with extensions being shown.
Show File Extensions
- Type Folder Options in the Start Menu’s Search Box and then click Folder Options in the search results.
- Click the View tab in the Folder Options window.
- Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.
[1] - Click OK to save the changes.
Warning: Be careful not to erase the file extension when renaming a file.
