Stop 0×7A or KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR

Posted By Brent Trahan On September 15, 2008 @ 10:21 am In All, Troubleshooting, Vista, Windows | No Comments

A Stop 0X7A message indicates that a page of kernel data was not found or could not be read into memory from the paging (virtual memory) file. This could be caused by incompatible disk or controller drivers, firmware, or hardware.

Resolving the Problem

Before you can fix this problem you need to figure out what caused it. This will help out a lot when troubleshooting the problem.

  1. You might have bad sectors on your hard drive. Run check disk [1] to scan your hard drive for errors.
  2. Run the Windows Memory Diagnostics tool [2] to check your memory for errors.
  3. Check your motherboard manufacturer’s website for updated firmware drivers.
  4. You should also check your motherboard for cracks and scratches.
