So you’ve imported video from your video camera ^[1], imported the video into Windows Movie Maker, and added the video to the story board ^[2].

Trim a Little off the Front or Back

This section shows you how to trim video off the front or back of the video file.

1. Click the video you want to trim in the story board.
2. Slid the slider in the video box to the place you want to split the video.

   Hint: You can move back or forward one frame at a time by clicking the left or right arrows next to the play button to make the cut at the exact spot.

3. Click the Split button next to the play button to split the file.

4. Notice how the file is split in the story board. Right-click the section of video you want to cut out in the story board and then select Remove.

All that’s left is to publish the edited video ^[5].

Trim a Section in the Video

This section shows you how to cut out a section of video in a video file.

Let’s say there’s a 5 minute section of video where you accidentally pressed the record button and recorded the ground. Here’s how you cut that out.

1. Follow the steps above and cut the video at the beginning of the section you want to cut out.
2. Now the video should be split in two in the story board. Highlight the second section of video and split it at the end of the section you want to cut out.
3. Now you should have three files in the story board. Remove the section you want to cut out (middle).

All that’s left is to publish the edited video ^[5].
